Briefing

Welcome employee.

You just entered station 16, the last stage of a complex melting factory for high quality gems. You have one of the most challenging Jobs that computer science knows: Sorting.

Bring three gems of the same color into a container on the bottom to fuse them. Do not make mistakes. And be careful. The waiting pipeline can not hold a gem forever!

Controls:

Left click on a rotation wheel to rotate it counter clockwise.

Right click on a rotation wheel to rotate it clockwise.

Left click on the panel buttons to use them.

Background

This game was created as a contribution to the Mini Jam #133. The Topic was "Fusion" and the Limitation was "Control the Environment".

I came to the conclusion that this jam topic was ideal to recreate a very old PC game that I knew from my childhood. As far as I know it was called "Logical". I took a lot of inspiration from this game and tried to adapt some core mechanics.

Furthermore I finally wanted to explore how to use Masks in Unity. With that technique I created the rotator blades with basic sprite shapes. Also the energy UI panel and the gem pipeline background "health" bar in green were brought into motion with masks.

Oh and by the way: There are acutally two songs put into the game. They start in the exact same way but have different melodical evolutions.

Credits

As a musician and programmer, I do not have the skills to create graphic assets. It's hard enough for me to compose given graphical assets such that they don't look like... well :)

That's why I picked some quality assets from different stores and put them together.

The textures you can see come from the realistic texture pack by Eldamar Studios. Here a Link to the Materials Page of the Store

The control panel is a composition of a create yourself a panel pack contained in the Doomsday Creation Kit (found in the humble bundle Mai/June 2023).

Also some Icons and the buttons are from this pack.

Nice little game :)

Some Feedback: Maybe it would be cool if there was more chaos to it by increased time pressure. I think of dropping the balls onto the first wheel even if it is occupied. It is your job to decide left or right before the next ball drops.

Bug Report: Sometimes if the balls go back and forth inside the waiting pipe, they then skip all the wheels, even if the first one is free. They then drop to the most left container.

Great game, really fun to play and its really simple as well

I had one issue in my second round of gameplay the balls kept getting stuck on the bars instead of getting placed in them (Image attatched)

But overall very fun
